About Blue Dragon

Blue Dragon

The Blue Dragon is a type of chromatic dragon that, unlike most others, lives in hierarchical societies. and follows societal norms. Blue dragons are, together with other chromatic dragons, considered to be vassals of Tiamat, whom they consider their queen and goddess.

Their growth process is comprised of 4 main stages: wyrmling, young, adult, and ancient. A blue dragon reaches adulthood at the age of 100, while ancient dragons are considered as such once they're over 800 years old. A common physical trait of all blue dragons is the horn that protrudes from their head and by their ears, as well as a broad, crocodile-like tail and very pronounced wings.

While they are very muscular and powerful in their attacks, they're likewise very intelligent and have an uncanny ability to lead their enemies into hallucinations while they wander in barren lands, in order to weaken them. On very specific occasions, they will perform aerial attacks and cast electrical discharges, which is their main offensive ability. They're usually called storm dragons, owing to this latter fact. In terms of alignment, they can be classified as lawful evil.

Blue dragons, contrary to what their coloring may suggest, live and make their lairs in underground caves below parched deserts and wastelands. Their acute burrowing ability allows them to create complex underground caverns. The lairs can be easily spotted below towering rock formations, over which they would scout the surroundings to spot enemies at a distance, thanks to the often underpopulated and relatively sparse topography. They usually build their lairs using lightning breath, and ordinarily in places that have large water pools for drinking and gatherings.

The blue dragons, apart from having a strict behavior code amongst themselves, are also very good at nurturing their offspring and watch over their eggs very zealously, unlike most sentient creatures of their kind.
